Soggy Summer

Wow, rain has settled in! June has been nothing less than soggy! It seems everytime I plan a pool trip, rain. Holiday World is planned for Thursday, perhaps the sun will shine and we won't get too scortched. Some summer pics:

Great Weekend

I have crossed over! A few weeks ago, I went to the ATT store and mind you, I dreaded it like a hammer to my thumb, but I went. I needed a new phone. Mine was cutting off, dying. So, after the sales rep. begged me to purchase an iPhone, I objected, held to my "I simply don't need that" attitude and went with the 'free phone' option, it was one for texting, like actually for an elderly person. It stunk! I hated it. So....my co-workers kept tempting me. "Look at this, try this" and "Oh, you can do this". I tucked my tail and went back to the ATT store. I traded in my phone. They kindly waived the $15 trade in fee that I wasn't told about. I purchased the iPhone 3. I went to BestBuy and got the OtterBox I like...yes, it's pink. Lily will die, but, I like it. I am getting to know my iPhone. Yay Me!
Our weekend has been pretty relaxing. We've worked on the yard, I did laundry, cleaned house and made some new recipes. Daniel is having a blast with LightSaber App I put on the my phone...thanks Scott, you know how to make a little boy happy! Daniel played his second big boy baseball game yesterday. He made some mistakes, and kept making the same ones. Mark and I yelled,"You need to get in front of the ball", " You gotta do this and that".....we sounded like he was 18 years old. He is so funny. He takes everthing pretty darn serious. We have practiced this weekend. He is determined to not make the same mistakes. I told him to do his best, remember what he has practiced and don't worry about the mistakes he made or will make.

Addison was too pretty for Sunday School today. She sat beside Mark and played with him during our class. She is an inspiration for me. If I ever think I feel bad, or can't tolerate a shot, or something I need. I think of her pain, her procedures, the botox shots in her muscles, the surgery. She is tough, she is made "outta good stock" as my Grandfather used to say. Well, at least half is good for her. Sorry, I loath her bio-father. BUT her real Daddy, is well......the best. He is definately God sent.
A storm is brewing, so I am definately fixing to lose internet connection!

Spring is Finally Here

Happy Easter and Happy Spring. Last weekend I had my entire family at my house. My aunt and I share the holiday gathering responsibilities since my Grandmother can no longer plan and tolerate these occassions. We had such a great weekend and Sunday. Of course, the meal was fabulous with lots of food I didn't need to eat, but I ate some anyway. Church was wonderful. The family had a blast with the egg hunt at our house even though it was terribly wet. The kids still had fun.

Daniel's baseball games have begun. He is playing with the pitch machine for the first time and it makes me more nervous than I'd like to admit. He is full of energy always, and seems to be catching on to "hip". He and his friends have catchy little sayings and signs to one another. They all seem to be very light hearted and not too serious about anything. I guess that's a simple joy of being a child.

Lily is wrapping up her traveling volleyball events now. She has broken up with her boyfriend and he's taking it pretty hard. He's a good hearted kid and we all wish him the best. It just seems Lily has plans, bigger plans than focusing on just a boy. I am so proud of her for that. She has a level head on her shoulders and gets confused, needs guidance like any other teenager, but she is true to herself. That is often something people need years and experience to have the courage to do. She is a little subborn, but so far, it's been beneficial to her on most occassions.

Mark stays busy working and golfs every chance he gets. I have to say I really like his friends, most of them. He has friends he has kept close to since middle school and wonderful friends he has met through work. Mark is never at a loss for words and is always full of jokes, sees the "bright side" of things and usualy has a witty comment. He is so darn intelligent too. Folks would never believe this, I don't think, due to his jokester personality. We watch Jeopardy and the man can slay the contestants. He doesn't like to read though. That is a huge difference we have. I have to have a book that I am delving into.

I hope to goodness I can be more faithul to this blog thing.

A Little Tis the Season

The Vogue/GQ pose.

The two babies...Lily and Daniel...feel the love. Ha, no slamming doors moment!

Long Time No Blog...Take Two

Just look at that face. He was determined for his Christmas cookies to turn out just right. We worked hard on them and he loved every minute of it. Lily loved eating them! They aren't perfect by any means, but we sure felt like we had accomplished alot.
I am frustrated at the fact that it takes so long for pictures taken with my superduper camera to upload to any social pages including my blog. My hubby will be disturbed if I use my low megapixel camera. What's a girl to do?? I guess the time to upload some photos is worth it. I love my new camera...just gotta learn to use it. I am excited about all it's blingy features. Here's a shot, well, the top photo, and yes, I thought I had it in sequence with my text, but NO! I'm learning. It took exactly 16 minutes for one photo to upload. The sweet cookie face picture was taken with my 4 megapixel. Hmmmm...again, what's a girl to do. I wonder if I use flickr? Would it help?
Christmas was really good for the most part. The other, I will block from my memory. I really will! Winter is being brutal for us Kentuckians. We relic in the thought of big snows that were, but we tire with it really fast.I can handle the snow, it's the ice that terrifies me. We have had ten snow days for our school system thus far. Daniel snuggles in every night with the question on his mind, "Will there be school tomorrow?" Lily fears she won't see her boyfriend the next day!
The kiddos went sled riding today. Daniel was on cloud nine! "Sissy can sure spot a good hill" was his comment when we came in from the cold. Then, it was hot chocolate and cartoon time! I am home with them due to needing to work this weekend (it's my turn). So I must say..."I LOVE A SNOW DAY TOO"!
